During their month-long summer residency at TAKEOVER, Modelab will transform the gallery into a mixed media genealogical garden.

The installation, made out of images, plant samples and decorative elements, proposes the elevation of personal histories into a collective aesthetic process. Through experimental archival techniques, Modelab proposes to acknowledge family memories and identities as a celebration of present life.

Sprouting Stories is a reminder that everything originates in nature and that memory eventually becomes a part of it, and that some memory exercises are an act of resistance and an assertion of life against adversity.

            Family genealogies
                            rooted in the past,
                                       they extend into          the future.
